![]() If the ability would just resotre your shields it would we way better. So the sentients taking aggro is actually a negative of the ability, since you would be (and can be when everything goes right) very very tanky. and more often then not it comes to a point where they steal aggro long enough for all your adaptation stacks to go away and then suddenly you get hit and poof you're dead instantly. BUT they are still VERY unreliable at that. Because sometimes the sentient friends are really good at stealing aggro, which sounds great at first too. And while Caliban theoratically COULD do that, he actually can't. and when you can also restore hp (or shields in this case) you WANT to get hit, you want to stack up your adaptation and negate damage by restoring shields and not take much damage in return. ![]() You see the issue is, when you have a tanky boy warframe that can soak up damage but actually needs to get hit to become defensiv. They restore your shields, and a actual good amount as well when you have all three and they distract enemies. SO what else do, or should, they provide? I want to start with his sentient friends, because this is the most unique ability he has and probably the biggest initial ability related reason you want to play him.īut lets get the obvious out of the way, the sentients as pets or damage dealer are quite terrible, but that was honestly expected, since AI just isn't a thing in Warframe, which isn't on my personal to do list very high either. because they slow down or counteract everything you want to do. The problem is, right now, all of his abilities would be better if they would JUST apply their effects, withouth any animations, sentient friends, no lasers. mainly: A lack of Identity or purpose, some actual numbers, weird/clunky ability behaviors and conflicting concepts So why am I conflichted then? this all sounds great doesn't it? He shouldn't die, can keep harm and pressure away with CC and can deal alot of damage with increasing his damage and remove ALL Defenses. He can fully strip armor AND shield in a reasonable to reach investment that works on basically all important enemies. Has a damage increase, applying vulnerability to enemies is like a damage buff for not only yourself, but your team as well! He has CC, and he really does have a good CC ability with his 2 for sure, a slowly expanding rhino stomp on his second ability, which makes sense nowadays, but not only that, it also. He is hard to kill, either through (almost)constant regaining of shields and also some aggro diversion, and he also has inbuilt "half" adaptation. Lets start by looking at the potential upsides, because he literally checks all the boxes you have and does have every tool available to him. A somewhat in-depth review (for endgame content)Ĭaliban is in a very weird spot for me where I can't really tell what I think about him. Caliban - When you (theoratically) have everything, but it is still not enough.
